Calendula officinalis L., commonly known as pot marigold, is one of the most extensively used medicinal plants in traditional and complementary medicine systems worldwide. Belonging to the Asteraceae family, this herb has been employed for centuries in the management of wounds, inflammatory disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, and skin ailments. Contemporary scientific investigations have revealed that its therapeutic potential is closely associated with a diverse spectrum of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, triterpenoids, carotenoids, phenolic acids, coumarins, quinones, and essential oils. Experimental studies, supported by growing clinical evidence, demonstrate antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, cytotoxic, and wound-healing activities. In addition to validating traditional claims, modern research has begun to clarify the molecular pathways responsible for these biological effects. This review provides a comprehensive and updated synthesis of phytochemical composition, pharmacological mechanisms, therapeutic applications, extraction technologies, and future research directions. The aim is to offer an integrated scientific perspective that supports the rational and evidence-based utilization of C. officinalis in modern healthcare

This research paper examines the role of Andhra Pradesh cuisine in promoting culinary tourism and evaluates the opportunities, institutional support, and constraints associated with transforming the state's food heritage into a stronger tourism product. The study adopts a mixed-data research design, combining a primary survey of 193 respondents with secondary data covering the period 2020-2025. Secondary data were obtained from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Andhra Pradesh district-wise tourism footfall records, and relevant sectoral sources on GI-tagged food products, agricultural crops, and culinary events. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis, weighted mean, standard deviation, one-sample t-tests, annual growth rates, compound annual growth rate (CAGR), index numbers, Pearson correlation, and tourist-footfall concentration measures. The primary results show strong agreement that Andhra cuisine is an important attraction (mean=4.01), that regional dishes enrich the visitor experience (mean=4.04), and that food festivals encourage destination visits (mean=4.02). Respondents also support stronger cuisine promotion by Andhra Pradesh Tourism (mean=3.91) and experiential products such as food trails, cooking demonstrations and farm visits (mean=3.81). Secondary analysis shows a strong recovery and expansion of domestic tourism: visits increased from 70.83 million in 2020 to 333.83 million in 2025, implying a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of about 36.35%. The 2024 district data indicate sizeable tourist markets in Tirupati, NTR, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and other districts, while foreign visits are highly concentrated. The paper concludes that Andhra Pradesh has a credible basis for culinary tourism through its regional cuisines, GI foods, pilgrimage-linked gastronomy, seafood, chilli, mango and Araku coffee, but requires integrated branding, quality assurance, food storytelling, market intelligence and district-level culinary circuits to convert high tourist volume into greater local food expenditure and destination differentiation.

Life skills equip young people to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life, and their systematic assessment among undergraduate students remains critical for higher-education planning. This paper presents a dimension-wise analysis of awareness of the ten core life skills identified by the World Health Organization - self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, effective communication, interpersonal relationship, coping with stress and coping with emotion-among undergraduate students affiliated with Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. Data were collected from 347 undergraduate students using a structured Likert-scale questionnaire covering all ten dimensions and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The overall level of life skills awareness was found to be high (M=4.13, SD=0.87 on a five-point scale). Dimension-wise analysis revealed that Empathy (M=4.30) and Interpersonal Relationship (M=4.27) were the most strongly developed dimensions, while Coping with Stress (M=4.03) and Critical Thinking (M=4.06) emerged as comparatively weaker dimensions. The findings suggest that targeted interventions in stress-coping and critical-thinking skills could strengthen the overall life-skills profile of undergraduate students.

Problem-solving abilities are essential for success in education, work, and daily life, ranging from solving mathematical equations to resolving interpersonal conflicts. The importance of problem-solving ability for students cannot be overstated, as it is a critical skill that transcends academic disciplines and is vital for success in various aspects of life. The purpose of this study was also to analyze the problem solving ability of high school students. For this purpose, the sample was consisted of 135 students. Problem Solving Ability Test (PSAT) developed by L.N. Dubey was used as a tool for data collection. Mean and t-test were used to analyze the data. On the basis of statistical evidences obtained it was concluded that the majority of high school students have moderate level of problem solving ability. Findings of present study can show a new way for developing problem solving ability skill among students of all level of education which in turn can also improve their academic performance.

Mechanization has become an essential component of modern sericulture, particularly in the post-cocoon sector and non-mulberry silk production systems, where labour-intensive operations often limit productivity and profitability. The adoption of improved machinery for cocoon sorting, deflossing, cooking, reeling, re-reeling, spinning, twisting, winding, and weaving has significantly enhanced processing efficiency, reduced labour requirements, and improved the quality of silk products. In non-mulberry sericulture, including eri, tasar, and muga silk production, technological innovations such as improved spinning wheels, solar-operated spinning machines, cocoon sorting equipment, and motorized reeling-cum-twisting machines have increased yarn recovery, production capacity, and product quality while reducing drudgery. Mechanization has also promoted value addition, efficient resource utilization, and greater income-generating opportunities for rural communities engaged in silk production. Despite these advantages, challenges such as high capital investment, limited technical expertise, inadequate maintenance facilities, and poor access to modern technologies continue to restrict the widespread adoption of mechanized systems, particularly among small-scale producers. This article highlights the major mechanized technologies currently used in the post-cocoon and non-mulberry sectors, evaluates their impact on productivity and sustainability, and discusses the challenges and future prospects of mechanization. Wider adoption of appropriate, affordable, and environmentally sustainable technologies will be crucial for strengthening the competitiveness and long-term growth of the non-mulberry and post-cocoon sericulture industries.
