Numerous physiological and pathological processes include calcium, the most prevalent mineral in the human body. The main processes of calcium homeostasis were addressed here, including the modulation of calcium sensing receptors, intestinal calcium absorption, renal calcium reabsorption, and bone calcium resorption. The roles of vitamin D and calcium in the diet in disorders linked to abnormal calcium regulation were also covered. On the other hand, excessive calcium intake may raise the risk of a number of illnesses, including kidney stones, myocardial infarction, and stroke.

This study investigates the relationship between spiritual intelligence and psychological well-being in a sample of 83 participants. Using the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory and the Ryff Scales of Psychological Well- being, the research explores the correlation between these two constructs. The findings suggest a significant positive correlation between spiritual intelligence and psychological well-being, indicating that individuals with higher levels of spiritual intelligence tend to report greater psychological well-being. These results highlight the potential role of spirituality in promoting mental health and overall life satisfaction.

This nutritional review examined the nutrition and health of Adi women in East Siang, Arunachal Pradesh, India. The assessment encompassed diet, socioeconomic status, and anthropometric measurements. Utilizing food and health frequency surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus groups, we analyzed the significant impact of education, employment, and family structure on nutritional health. The study involved 40 rural and 40 urban Adi women, focusing on four health and nutrition concerns through meal recalls, anthropometry, focus groups, and key informant interviews. Experienced moderators conducted pre-planned interviews, with diet recollections and focus group interviews transcribed and translated. The study revealed that the typical diet of the Adi people consisted of two high-carbohydrate, low-fat meals per day, deficient in vitamins A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B12, C, as well as calcium and iron. Among the participants, 25% of women aged 18-22 were underweight, while 20% of women aged 22-30 were overweight. Cultural beliefs influenced dietary practices, such as the avoidance of papaya, pineapple, and twin-fruit during pregnancy, and skepticism towards prenatal iron supplements. Colostrum was deemed inferior to milk, and there was uncertainty about when to introduce complementary foods to infants. Chronic disorders like diabetes and hypertension were prevalent among indigenous women aged 35-45. The dietary, physical activity and health patterns suggested that Adi tribal women were in the third stage of nutritional transition: characterized by physically demanding work, a carbohydrate-rich diet with little fat and diversity, poor nutrition, and a lack of obesity. Despite minimal dietary changes, many traditional dietary beliefs and practices were found to be potentially detrimental. Nutrition education is crucial to promote diets rich in micronutrients. Additionally, advising pregnant women on appropriate food types and quantities, emphasizing the importance of colostrum for neonatal health, and advocating for the timely introduction of complementary foods are essential. Encouraging healthy diets and lifestyles is imperative to prevent obesity and non-communicable chronic diseases.

Ayurveda drug formulations or Ayurveda drug pharmaceutics is known with the special branch Ras Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana. Basically it is a science which mainly deals with processing and formation of Organic & Inorganic elements into such forms which are Non Toxic and can be utilized for prevention & cure of disease with promotion of health. Pharmacology is the science of how drug act on biological system and how the body respond to drug i.e. Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics respectively. The term of Modern Pharmacology is different for Ayurveda. Ayurveda Pharmacology is understood by understanding the concept of Rasa-Virya-Vipaka and Karma of drug. Out of these Rasa-Virya and Vipaka are the Physiochemical and Biochemical properties whereas Karma or Action of drug towards body comes under Pharmacodynamics. The term Pharmacokinetic is not exactly explained in Ayurveda. Many of drugs are compound formulation. The Pharmacokinetic or Liberation, Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion of such formulations are not completely known till date. We are tried here to determine the gap between understanding Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics for Ayurveda drugs. There is huge scope for application of Modern pharmacology for Ayurveda formulations. It will certainly help to improve the Posology and encourage the Research and Development of Ayurveda drugs.

A popular food crop and medicinal plant, Phaseolus vulgaris (common bean) is well-known for its therapeutic benefits, which include helping people lose weight. Type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, and some types of cancer are among the many ailments that are exacerbated by obesity, a global health concern. Dietary techniques, such as reducing carbohydrate intake, exercise, and nutrition control are all part of managing obesity. ?-amylase inhibitors (?-AI), including Alpha-AI1, are found in common beans, especially white kidney beans. They prevent the breakdown of starch, which lowers the absorption of glucose and helps people lose weight. Phaseolus vulgaris extracts (PVE) have demonstrated advantages in enhancing insulin sensitivity, lowering body weight, and regulating blood glucose levels. Clinical research, including randomized trials, has shown that PVE supplementation can reduce body weight and fat through mechanisms such as decreased fat conversion and suppression of glucose absorption.
