 Abstract

Transdermal patches have been used for drug delivery to accelerate the wound healing process withminimum negative effect. This study evaluated the wound healing potential of transdermal patchescontaining Carica papaya, Chromolaena odorata, and Averrhoa bilimbi leaves extract on hyperglycemic rat as a diabetic wound model. For this purpose, a total of 40 Wistar rats aged 2 - 3 months were randomly distributed into 10 groups. The first 5 groups (P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5) consisted of normal rats which received normal dressing, TP Dermafix, TP of C. papaya, TP of C. odorata, and TP of A. bilimbi, respectively. The second 5 groups (P6, P7, P8, P9 and P10) were hyperglycemic rats that received normal dressing, TP Dermafix, TP of C. papaya, TP of C. odorata, and TP of A. bilimbi, respectively. Skin incisions were made perpendicular to the spine in the thickest part of the skin with an incision length of 2cm and a depth of 0.5 cm. Patches were applied to the incisions according to the test group and replaced every 2 days for a period of 13 days. Wound healing activity was determined by evaluating the Clinical Sign of Inflammation (CSI) score, wound closure, TGF-?1 concentration, and histology of skin tissue.Data were analyzed using oneway analysis of variance (ANOVA).

 Abstract

Abstract: The Barak Valley is one of the prominent hubs of literary activity in the northeastern region. Through the cycles of historical erosion, decline, construction, and reconstruction, the society, literature, and culture of this region have carved out a unique identity for themselves. In contemporary times, Moloykanti Dey stands out as an exceptional storyteller in the northeastern literary landscape. His stories are both truthful and profoundly introspective. Amidst the entanglements of state and politics, people like Ashraf Ali, trapped under labels such as "citizenship," "illegal," and "D-voter," struggle to find a homeland. Women crushed under the weight of religion, politics, and patriarchy discover themselves reduced to mere objects. Workers unquestioningly accept subjugation, while ordinary people confront the dark quicksand of life. In such bleak circumstances, Moloykanti crafts a counter-narrative that captures the stark truths of these vulnerable lives. The paper is analytical in nature construed with the help of primary and secondary data.

 Abstract

: Osteoarthritis (OA), also known as degenerative joint disease, is a chronic condition characterized by the gradual deterioration of cartilage within the joints. This degeneration leads to pain, stiffness, and reduced joint function, significantly impacting the quality of life of those affected. OA is closely associated with aging, as its symptoms tend to worsen over time, causing long-term discomfort and structural changes to the affected joints. As the disease progresses, it can lead to severe pain, disability, and a significant loss of mobility, making it one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. OA primarily affects weight-bearing joints such as the knees, hips, and spine, but can also involve smaller joints in the hands and feet.Despite the widespread prevalence of osteoarthritis, the best available treatments primarily focus on pain management and improving joint function but do not offer a cure for the degenerative process. Current treatment options include medications, physical therapy, and in severe cases, joint replacement surgery. However, these therapies only address the symptoms, and they cannot stop or reverse the progression of the disease. As the global population ages, OA is expected to become an even more significant public health issue, with an increasing number of individuals experiencing its debilitating effects. In recent years, significant advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), have shown promise in improving the accuracy and efficiency of osteoarthritis detection and diagnosis. AI techniques, when applied to medical imaging, clinical data analysis, and predictive modeling, offer a powerful tool to detect early signs of OA, potentially before the onset of symptoms. By analyzing complex datasets from medical images (such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans) and patient-specific clinical data, AI can identify subtle patterns and predict the risk of progression. This early detection could enable clinicians to intervene sooner, potentially preventing or slowing down the disease's progression. This review paper aims to explore the state-of-the-art AI techniques applied to the detection and diagnosis of degenerative joint disease, focusing on the most innovative image-based detection methods, clinical data analysis, and predictive modeling techniques. It will provide an overview of how AI is enhancing the diagnostic accuracy of OA, examining both established and emerging approaches. The paper also identifies key open problems and research gaps, including the need for better data quality, model generalizability, and integration of AI tools into clinical workflows. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges associated with incorporating AI into osteoarthritis diagnostics, such as data privacy concerns, regulatory hurdles, and the need for interpretability of AI models to ensure trust and adoption by healthcare professionals. Finally, this paper will look at the future prospects of AI in osteoarthritis diagnosis and management, including the potential for personalized medicine, more effective treatment strategies, and improved patient outcomes. As AI technologies continue to evolve, they hold the potential to revolutionize the way osteoarthritis is detected, treated, and managed, offering hope for better care and quality of life for millions of people worldwide.

 Abstract

Vriddhi is one among the disease which is explained in all Ayurvedic literatures. It is a Vata Pradhana Vyadhi, where Phalakoshashopha, i.e., Swelling of scrotum is the main symptom. The term 'Vriddhi' has been used at many instances in Ayurveda and has to be understood according to the context. Literally, the word 'Vriddhi' means increase and here, in this context of Vriddhi roga, it indicates Vrishana vriddhi / Mushka vriddhi / Andakosha vriddhi which can be correlated to Scrotal swellings. Classification of Vriddhi may be based on the predominant dosha and based on its etiology. Based on the etiology, clinical features and location, Vriddhi can be correlated to different scrotal swellings like Epididymo-orchitis, Scrotal lipomatosis, Hydrocele and Hernia. Here in this article an attempt is made to review Vriddhi roga in detail.

 Abstract

Pharmacogenomics is the area of pharmacology that examines how genetic variation affects a patient's reaction to medication by linking a drug's toxicity or efficacy to changes in gene expression or single-nucleotide polymorphisms. It seeks to create logical methods for tailoring medication regimens to patients' genotypes in order to maximize benefits and minimize side effects. These methods herald the arrival of "personalized medicine," in which medications and treatment combinations are tailored to the specific genetic composition of each patient. The whole genome application of pharmacogenetics, which studies the relationships between single genes and medications, is called pharmacogenomics.[1]

 Abstract

The diagnosis of brain tumours depends on the early detection of these disorders by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. While there are other imaging modalities used to diagnose brain tumours, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the method of choice because of its higher image quality Finding brain tumours early on in the imaging process is essential for prompt diagnosis and treatment. Tumour diagnosis in medical imaging can now be done more accurately and efficiently because to deep learning, especially transfer learning. This paper offers a thorough examination of the many deep transfer learning models used to detect brain tumours, including an analysis of their architectures, methods, and performance assessments. This survey delves into the development of transfer learning approaches in this field, emphasising the use of pre-trained models, domain adaptation, fine-tuning procedures, and group methodologies. It also clarifies the many datasets that are utilised for testing and training, as well as the difficulties and potential paths for this discipline going forward. This review's comparative analysis attempts to enhance the development of reliable and accurate diagnostic tools in clinical practice by providing insights into the benefits, drawbacks, and future developments of deep transfer learning models for brain tumour diagnosis.

 Abstract

In Last Man in Tower by Aravind Adiga, memory and place attachment are central themes that shape the narrative, influencing characters' identities, relationships, and their reactions to change. The novel uses Vishram Society, an old but cherished housing cooperative in Mumbai, as a symbol of this deep connection between memory and place. Vishram Society is not just a building; it is a space imbued with decades of memories for its residents. For Masterji, the protagonist, the building represents stability, community, and the life he shared with his late wife and daughter. His attachment to the place is rooted in the emotional and historical significance it holds, making it impossible for him to part with it, despite the lucrative offer from Dharmen Shah. The article tries to explore the connection of memory and place attachment in the selected work.
