 Abstract

The corporate sector plays a vital role in addressing environmental concerns by embracing sustainable practices. Businesses are increasingly adopting green initiatives such as energy conservation, waste management, carbon footprint reduction, and eco-friendly workspaces as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR). This study examines the extent to which companies in Chennai integrate green policies into their operations and evaluates their impact on environmental sustainability. Through a descriptive and analytical approach, primary data was collected from corporate employees and managers across various industries, including IT, manufacturing, banking, and retail. The findings reveal that employee awareness programs are the most commonly implemented green initiative, with larger corporations demonstrating a stronger commitment to sustainability. Key factors influencing green adoption include energy efficiency and waste management practices, while companies with robust environmental policies tend to experience improved financial performance. The study highlights the benefits of corporate sustainability, such as enhanced brand reputation, employee satisfaction, and long-term business growth. Encouraging corporate participation in green initiatives is crucial for fostering an environmentally responsible business ecosystem in Chennai. The research underscores the need for policy support and industry collaboration to accelerate the transition toward a greener corporate sector.

 Abstract

The study of large-scale structures in the universe is fundamental to understanding cosmic evolution. In this paper, I explore the role of massive neutrinos in structure formation, with a particular focus on Jeans mass calculations and the implications for dark matter models. Using analytical derivations and computational analysis, I examine the Jeans wave number in different relativistic regimes and discuss the significance of fluctuations in the neutrino sphere. My findings highlight the impact of neutrino mass on the growth of cosmic structures and provide insights into the mixed dark matter model.

 Abstract

Back-to-back built-up cold-formed channel sections made of high strength steel are becoming increasingly popular for column members in cold-formed steel structures. Standard design codes put limits on slenderness ratio for designing such sections where the slenderness of single section does not exceed half of the slenderness of the back-to-back column. This paper investigates slenderness ratios beyond this limit. ABAQUS is used to conduct parametric study involving fifty-six validated models to study the exceeded limits. The effect of fastener spacing on the axial strength of back-to-back built-up columns is investigated to exceed slenderness ratio limits. The study finds that the design according to the standard codes is conservative for columns that fail through local buckling. The aim of this research is to use a new design approach, the Continuous Strength Method, to develop an equation to help exceed limits.

 Abstract

The Bridges and flyovers have become a necessary means of connectivity for Men and material between places. The junctions between Bridge and Pavement are failing frequently causing hazardous situations. The primary cause is the failure of back-fill rendering the Bridge inaccessible, causing long detours and escalation in operational costs. An attempt has been made to study the deflection of the abutment for heights 1 m to 4 m high and 16.6 m wide road, for a sample traffic load taken at a Toll gate for a National Highway, Plain/Rolling Terrain as per Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, India; for the Ruling gradient of 3.3%, for the Limiting gradient of 5% and for the Exceptional gradient of 6.7% of the approach embankments and the results are tabulated. The initial deflections though of relatively smaller magnitude can get accumulated resulting into higher magnitude of deflections with the passage of time. The deflection caused by the impact of the lateral load due to traffic could be one of the main reasons for the failure of junctions between the Bridge and the Pavement.

 Abstract

Abstract As a government-initiated insurance program in India as Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) provides money to farmers after crop failures. The government implemented this insurance policy in 2016 to substitute previous crop insurance systems because it targets helping farmers who experience damage from various sources like natural disasters and pest infestations or plant diseases. Farmers that participate in the PMFBY scheme must pay a minimal premium amount because both central and state governments provide financial subsidies. The scheme secures pre-sowing, sowing and post-harvest risks so farmers receive full protection starting from the prior planting stage to post harvest period. When crop failure occurs farmers can receive payments proportionate to their damage extent because of this benefit they gain financial support to rebuild their operations. PMFBY establishes financial protection for farmers against harvest losses to facilitate their active promotion of contemporary agricultural techniques independent of revenue collapse during crop failure. The scheme delivers affordable insurance coverage which functions to protect both farmers' financial security and their farm stability. The scheme facilitates financial inclusion for farmers through its access to formal credit institutions which simultaneously builds their confidence to practice investment in agricultural activities. Through its functions the PMFBY scheme creates a framework that builds farmer resistance against unpredictable risks and drives sustainable agricultural progress throughout India.
