 Abstract

This study examines the various dimensions of love portrayed in the novel Thanneer Desam. Love is presented as a fundamental aspect of human life, encompassing emotions such as affection, care, and compassion. Through the relationship between Kalaivannan and Tamilroja, the study highlights the importance of love languages, emotional sharing, and mutual trust in a romantic relationship. It emphasizes that true love lies in supporting each other in both joy and hardship. The narrative illustrates how lovers share their suffering in situations of hunger, thirst, and danger, thereby revealing the depth of their bond. Furthermore, the idea of remaining united even in death reflects the highest form of love. The study also underscores that love serves as a force for equality, women's empowerment, and social progress. Here are suitable Keywords for your research article based on the novel Thanneer Desam.

 Abstract

Background: Maternal health literacy plays a crucial role in ensuring safe pregnancy and improving maternal and fetal outcomes. Adequate knowledge regarding antenatal care helps pregnant women adopt appropriate self-care practices such as proper nutrition, personal hygiene, regular antenatal checkups, and recognition of danger signs during pregnancy. However, in many rural areas of India, pregnant women have limited access to reliable health information, which often results in poor self-care behaviors and delayed health-seeking practices. Participatory group counseling has been recognized as an effective educational strategy that promotes interaction, peer learning, and behavioral change among participants. Aim: To assess the effectiveness of a participatory group counseling model on antenatal health literacy and self-care practices among pregnant women in a selected rural setting of Karnataka. Methods: A quasi-experimental non-randomized control group design was adopted for the study. The research was conducted among pregnant women attending antenatal clinics in selected rural areas of Karnataka. The sample size consisted of 100 pregnant women, divided into 50 in the experimental group and 50 in the control group. The experimental group received participatory group counseling sessions focusing on antenatal health literacy and self-care practices, while the control group received routine antenatal care. Data were collected using a structured antenatal health literacy questionnaire and self-care practice checklist. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including paired and unpaired t-tests. Results: The findings indicated that the mean post-test antenatal health literacy score and self-care practice score of the experimental group were significantly higher than the pre-test scores and the control group (p < 0.05). Participatory group counseling significantly improved knowledge regarding nutrition, antenatal visits, personal hygiene, recognition of danger signs, and healthy lifestyle practices during pregnancy. Conclusion: The participatory group counseling model was effective in improving antenatal health literacy and self-care practices among pregnant women in rural communities. Incorporating participatory educational approaches into antenatal services can strengthen maternal health awareness and promote safe motherhood practices.

 Abstract

This study presents an interdisciplinary analysis of the distributions faced by tribal communities residingin Dantan-I, Dantan-I, and Narayangarh blocks of Paschim Medinipur district in West Bengal, India, where resource dependent development has led to environmental degradation, and cultural erosion, examining their adaptive strategies and resistance mechanisms through the lens of socio-environmental justice. The aims of this study are to identify the major forms of resource extraction and development projects in the Dantan and Naryangrarh blocks, and to analyze the patterns of resistance adopted by indigenous communities in response to resource exploitation. This research is qualitative in nature. 190 households have been selected as the sample size for this study. Microsoft Excel was used for data analysis, specifically for the graphical presentation, of this study. The findings of the research indicate that indigenous communities place a strong reliance on institutions such as the Gram Sabha as a primary and secondary mechanism of resistance; furthermore, they prioritize such support as the highest priority for development. This research specifically highlights the adaptation strategies, development approaches, and aspirations of indigenous communities, while simultaneously emphasizing the necessity of formulating inclusive and context-sensitive policies that accord due respect to indigenous environmental knowledge.

 Abstract

Abstract: This paper presents an in-depth postcolonial feminist and diasporic examination of Monica Ali's Brick Lane (2003), concentrating on how Bangladeshi women are portrayed in transnational settings. By conducting a thorough textual analysis, the study investigates the interplay of gender, migration, class, religion, and cultural identity in shaping female subjectivity. Utilizing theoretical perspectives from Chandra Talpade Mohanty, Homi K. Bhabha, Avtar Brah, and Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, the paper contends that Brick Lane challenges simplistic Western depictions of "Third World women" by emphasizing agency, negotiation, and transformation. Nazneen's evolution from passive compliance to self-empowerment exemplifies how diasporic environments serve as both restrictive and empowering spaces. The analysis reveals that the Bangladeshi women in the novel are multifaceted individuals who actively redefine their identities within changing socio-cultural contexts.

 Abstract

Abstract: Pandit Raghunath Murmu played a transformative role in the cultural awakening and social progress of the Santali community through the invention of the Ol Chiki script in the early twentieth century. At a time when the Santali language was primarily oral and written using borrowed scripts such as Bengali, Odia, or Roman, Murmu recognized the urgent need for a distinct writing system that could preserve the linguistic identity and cultural heritage of the Santals. His creation of Ol Chiki in 1925 marked a historic milestone in the intellectual and cultural renaissance of the community. The paper will explore the profound contributions of Pandit Raghunath Murmu to the Santali culture, focusing on his invention and promotion of the Ol Chiki script, a pivotal tool in the preservation and development of Santali language and identity. His work not only nurtured cultural pride but also aligned with the broader national goals of progressiveness, education, and social empowerment for indigenous communities. This paper will examine Murmu's legacy and the impact of Ol Chiki on Santali people's integration into the national fabric of India, while contributing to the cultural and intellectual diversity of the nation.

 Abstract

This Study was conducted to examine the Education of Rajbanshi Community in North Bengal. The present study explores the educational conditions and experiences of the Rajbanshi community in North Bengal through an ethnographic approach. The Rajbanshi community, recognized as a significant indigenous group in this region, has historically faced socio-economic marginalization, which has had a direct impact on their access to and participation in formal education. This research seeks to understand how cultural practices, economic conditions, social structures, and institutional factors shape the educational trajectories of the community. Using ethnographic methods such as participant observation, in-depth interviews, and informal interactions, the study captures the lived experiences of students, parents, and educators within the Rajbanshi community. The findings reveal that despite increasing awareness about education, several challenges persist, including poverty, lack of infrastructural facilities, language barriers, early marriage, and limited parental literacy. At the same time, the study also highlights the role of government initiatives, local institutions, and community efforts in gradually improving educational participation. The research further examines the intersection of traditional knowledge systems and modern education, showing how cultural identity, both supports and sometimes conflicts with formal schooling. The study concludes that while progress has been made, there is a need for culturally sensitive and inclusive educational policies that address the specific needs of the Rajbanshi community. This ethnographic insight contributes to a deeper understanding of education in marginalized communities and offers recommendations for enhancing educational equity and social inclusion in North Bengal.
