THE IMPACT OF MGNREGA ON MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES: A Study Conducted in Vijayanagaram District, A.P., India. Dr. KOTI, RAVI KUMAR, M.A., Ph.D. Department of Social Work Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, A.P., India ABSTRACT The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) was established in October 2009 and officially notified on July 30, 2010. Building on the foundation laid by the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act of 2005 (NREGA), this initiative is one of India's most significant and widely recognized social welfare programs aimed at providing wage employment to rural households. The Act ensures that every rural household, where adult members are willing to engage in unskilled manual labour, receives a minimum of 100 to 150 days of wage employment each year. MGNREGA's primary goal is to enhance livelihood security for rural families, bolster economic stability, and alleviate rural poverty. It emphasizes the creation of sustainable assets, including roads, water conservation systems, and rural infrastructure, thereby fostering rural development and improving living standards in these areas. Additionally, the program empowers marginalized communities, especially women, by providing employment opportunities and promoting social inclusion. The study emphasizes the significance of government initiatives like MGNREGA, which has played a crucial role in providing wage employment, yet has not reached all eligible individuals. The findings indicate that, although there have been some advancements in access to infrastructure such as electricity and drinking water, significant gaps persist in areas like sanitation and education. Additionally, the analysis highlights how socio-economic factors, including caste, gender, and age, influence the economic participation and living conditions of residents. This study advocates for targeted policy measures to tackle socio-economic disparities, focusing on enhancing access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, especially for marginalized communities. The MGNREGA has emerged as an essential and vital instrument for tackling the economic vulnerabilities faced by rural India, particularly in times of unemployment and underemployment. Its effects are evident not only in the direct provision of jobs but also in the creation of lasting rural assets that foster long-term socio-economic growth. The program has played a significant role in mitigating distress during droughts, floods, and other natural disasters by offering alternative sources of income. Nevertheless, despite its achievements, challenges remain in its complete implementation, such as delays in wage disbursements, insufficient awareness among beneficiaries, and concerns regarding transparency and corruption.

The integration of nano-engineered materials into cementitious composites has revolutionized the domain of high-performance concrete. This study investigates the incorporation of nano-silica (NS) as a partial cement substitute, evaluating its effect on mechanical strength, microstructural morphology, and seismic resilience. Concrete specimens were synthesized with NS dosages of 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, and 1% by weight of cement, subjected to rigorous compressive and flexural testing. Microstructural analyses through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) revealed significant densification and hydration augmentation. A computational seismic simulation was executed on a ten-story Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame (OMRF) via Staad Pro to assess base shear variations. Results affirm that 1% NS enhances compressive strength by 16%, with minimal seismic impact. The findings establish NS as a potential additive for sustainable and high-durability concrete formulations.

This review investigates into the complexities of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy in postoperative management, highlighting its potential benefits in orthopaedic and sports medicine. Emerging evidence indicates that early postoperative mobilization, following the reduction of swelling, significantly enhances healing outcomes when PRP is utilized. A criterion-based advancement schedule, which considers factors such as pain levels, tissue quality, range of motion, strength, and neuromuscular control, is essential for optimizing patient recovery. However, the administration of postoperative analgesia warrants caution, especially concerning the concurrent use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which may suppress platelet function. Current literature advises postponing NSAID use around PRP applications to maximize healing efficacy. While anecdotal reports support accelerated return-to-play (RTP) timelines for athletes receiving PRP, robust scientific evidence remains limited, emphasizing the necessity for standardized rehabilitation protocols. The efficacy of PRP therapy is primarily observed during the inflammatory and proliferative phases of healing. This observation highlights the need for further research to ascertain the optimal timing for PRP intervention. Future developments should focus on well-designed, controlled clinical trials to elucidate PRP's benefits and limitations, with an emphasis on long-term follow-up and objective outcome measures. Additionally, exploring the synergistic effects of PRP in combination with biomaterials and cellular therapies may enhance its regenerative capabilities. Understanding the precise timing of PRP application within the healing process is crucial; early interventions seem to yield better results, while later applications may not be as effective. Furthermore, the cost of PRP therapy represents a significant barrier to widespread clinical use, necessitating comprehensive cost-benefit analyses. This extensive exploration underscores the importance of ongoing research to optimize PRP therapy's therapeutic potential and establish clear guidelines for its application in clinical practice.
