 Abstract

Pulsatile drug delivery systems (PDDS) have gained significant attention in the field of pharmaceutical technology due to their ability to deliver drugs at specific times and sites, providing advantages over conventional dosage forms. These systems are designed to release a certain amount of drug rapidly and completely after a predetermined lag time or period of no drug release. This unique mechanism of drug release offers improved therapeutic efficacy and increased patient compliance. Pulsatile drug delivery systems ensure that the drug is delivered at the right time when the disease is most active or when the body's natural rhythms are disrupted. This targeted and time-controlled drug release is particularly useful for diseases or conditions that exhibit time-dependent variations in symptoms or require drug administration at specific times for optimal therapeutic outcomes. Coating technology and swellable/erodible polymers are commonly employed in pulsatile drug delivery systems to control drug release. Coating technology involves the use of a rupturable coating layer that acts as a barrier to drug release. This coating layer can be designed to dissolve or rupture in response to specific triggers such as changes in pH, temperature, or enzymatic activity, allowing for rapid and complete drug release. Swellable/erodible polymers, on the other hand, can control the release of drugs by gradually releasing them as they swell or erode over time. Swellable polymers absorb water and increase in volume, creating pores or channels for gradual drug release. Erodible polymers degrade over time, leading to the release of the drug from the matrix or hydrogel. Recent advances in pulsatile drug delivery systems have explored remotely controlled delivery systems. These systems utilize external stimuli such as magnetic fields or ultrasound to trigger drug release at a specific time or site, offering enhanced control and precision in drug delivery. In conclusion, pulsatile drug delivery systems offer a promising approach for targeted and time-controlled drug release. They have the potential to improve therapeutic outcomes, increase patient compliance, and minimize side effects associated with continuous or non-specific drug release. Further research and development efforts are needed to optimize these systems and translate them into clinical practice.

 Abstract

The research objectives of this study encompass the identification of socio-demographic characteristics, the evaluation of knowledge levels, the comprehension of the effects of menstruation, and the examination of menstrual hygiene practices among the participants. Utilizing a cross-sectional descriptive design, data was obtained from 400 secondary school girls from Yakubia Girl's High School. The study was conducted from September 2019 to March 2020. The survey, which was based on questionnaires, encompassed various aspects such as socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge about menstruation, and hygiene practices. The statistical analysis was performed by employing SPSS software. The findings divulged that the majority of participants were below the age of 16, with a significant number of girls experiencing menarche at or before the age of 13. The primary source of knowledge about menstruation for the girls was their mothers, followed by sisters and friends. Nevertheless, there were gaps in understanding the definitions and cycles of menstruation, with numerous girls lacking knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene prior to experiencing menarche. The study underscores the significance of comprehensive education about menstruation and the availability of hygienic facilities for adolescent girls. It advocates for targeted interventions aimed at enhancing menstrual hygiene practices and tackling the cultural taboos associated with menstruation. By augmenting the knowledge of girls and providing adequate support, the study strives to alleviate the adverse effects of menstruation on education and empower adolescent girls in Bogura, Bangladesh. The study investigates the socio-demographic characteristics, awareness levels, and practices related to menstruation among secondary school girls in a particular region. Findings reveal that mothers predominantly impart knowledge about menstruation, with limited influence from other sources. Participants commonly experience physical and mental challenges during menstruation, impacting their schooling. Recommendations emphasize the importance of education, involving men in menstrual health discussions, and promoting proper hygiene practices.

 Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the impact of job stress on employee performance. The data was collected from the academic institutions in the Dehradun region, Uttarakhand, India. The purposive sampling was adopted for the purpose of the study. A sample size of 200 was undertaken in this study. After that, the consistency was measured initially by using Cronbach's alpha followed by a model fit check with the usage of confirmatory factor analysis, and subsequently, the causal relationship was checked by using the structural equation model. The results of the study indicated that all the independent variables are significantly related which indicates that there is an impact relatively on job performance.

 Abstract

The main objective of the study was to study the impact red mud waste lechate on a crop plant and to explore the possibility of replacing the rice crop by any other suitable crop. From the present study and the results observed from the study of other researchers of our laboratory indicated that the RMWE is deadly toxic and the rice crop should be replaced with green gram crop. It was observed that lechate leaking from the red mud pond flows as a small canal and contaminates the river. The lechate contaminates the ground water of the contaminated site and neighboring crop fields. The leached chemicals of red mud pond significantly affected the crop plants at sub-lethal concentrations. The intensity of impact increased with the increase in RMWE concentration. Seed germination and seedling establishment was severely affected in RMWE exposed seedlings. The leached chemicals / RMWE significantly affected the pigment contents of the exposed seedlings and altered the pigment ratio values of the seedlings. RMWE influenced the physiological activities and biomolecular content of the exposed crop seedlings thereby reducing the productivity of the crop plant. Significant increase in residual alumina content was noted in RMWE exposed seedlings. The residual alumina content in exposed root and shoot affected the studied parameters.

 Abstract

Electronic banking has experienced fiery growth and has altered traditional practices in banking. Now it has become synonym for wide variety of automated services of which one of the significant types of service is Internet banking. Various researchers have been organized to identify the factors affecting adoption of internet banking but the effectiveness of these factors may have reduced with time. So, it is indispensable to check the effectiveness of these factors. The objective of the study is to identify the various factors influencing the customers' adoption of internet banking in Punjab. Keeping in mind all the consideration given in various papers published internationally, a sample of more than 417 was found to be the most sufficient for the study. The study was conducted in Punjab state of the India. The data was collected from three districts viz. Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala. In the present study various standardized scale items were used. Among the different factors relative advantage, internet experience, trialibility, self-efficacy, government support and technical support were found significant predictors of internet banking adoption.

 Abstract

The goal of the "Driver Distraction Detection" project is to use computer vision and machine learning techniques to create a reliable system for the real-time detection of distracted driving behavior. Road safety is significantly threatened by distracted driving, which results in a high number of mishaps worldwide. This concept uses the on-board cameras in cars to continuously monitor driver behavior to address this problem. To locate the driver's face within the camera frame and identify important facial landmarks, the system uses tracking and facial detection algorithms. The technology determines the driver's attention level and detects indications of distraction by eye gaze analysis, eye blinking patterns tracking, and head position estimate. Using labeled data, machine learning models are trained to categorize driver behavior into focused and distracted categories based on attributes that are retrieved. The successful implementation of the "Driver Distraction Detection" project holds the potential to significantly enhance road safety by reducing the prevalence of accidents caused by distracted driving. This project aligns with broader efforts to leverage technology to mitigate risks on the road and create safer driving environments for all road users.
