 Abstract

The paper is an investigative study to unveil the resources and services of two Central University Libraries. Scope of the study covers North-Eastern Hill University Central Library and Rajiv Gandhi University Central Library. A brief introduction about the concerned universities and their libraries are narrated at the beginning. Exhaustive literature search of the relevant published literature has been done. To evaluate and compare the web content accessibility as well as availability of both libraries. Research methodology encompasses exploring both primary data and analysis of the secondary literature. Web content analysis methods are used to draw comparisons between the different variables. A thorough analysis of all the parameters has been done. Results are presented in fifteen tables. In the 16th table, a comparative score-sheet has been presented based on the total score of evaluation of the selected libraries. Findings of the study revealed that North-Eastern Hill University library is more technological advanced and make available with more resources and services compare to Rajiv Gandhi University library.

 Abstract

The significance of corporate governance (CG) as a subject of discussion grew in importance, particularly in India, which has grappled with a prolonged crisis since 1998. Various stakeholders asserted that the protracted nature of the crisis in India could be attributed to the notably weak corporate governance practices prevalent in the country. Both the government and investors began to pay substantial attention to the practice of corporate governance. Corporate governance is a method employed by company executives to enhance corporate responsibility in delivering long-term shareholder value while also considering the company's interests. This research endeavours to assess the implementation of effective corporate governance and its influence on the stock prices of pharmaceutical companies in India. The research employs a descriptive approach with a quantitative methodology. The study population encompasses six prominent pharmaceutical companies in India spanning from 2018-2019 till 2022-2023. Secondary data, including the financial statements of these companies, constituting the research data. The study's findings reveal that managerial ownership and independent commissioners exert an influence on stock prices, whereas institutional ownership does not demonstrate a significant impact.

 Abstract

In India, wide range of investment options are available for individual investors. This study explores the banking product usage and investment preferences among salaried employees. Through surveys and analysis, it examines the types of banking products commonly utilized by this demographic. Additionally, it investigates the factors influencing their investment decisions, including risk tolerance, financial goals, and knowledge about various investment options. The findings shed light on the banking behaviors and investment inclinations of salaried workers, providing insights for financial institutions to tailor their products and services to better meet their needs. The study is based on descriptive research design and the data was collected through primary source.

 Abstract

Housing is a great requirement in today's world. The dream of owning a house particularly for low-income and middle-income families is becoming a difficult reality. Hence, it has become a necessity to adopt cost effective, innovative, and environment-friendly housing technologies for the construction of houses and buildings for enabling the common people to construct houses at affordable cost. The most basic building material for construction of houses is the conventional burnt clay brick. A significant quantity of fuel & Labour is utilized in making these bricks. Also, continuous removal of upper surface of soil mass, in producing conventional bricks, creates environmental problems. A study was undertaken on the comparison of Fly ash bricks and conventional clay bricks to solve the problems related to the shortage of construction materials and at the same time to build houses economically by utilizing industrial wastes. The compressive strength of fly ash bricks and conventional clay bricks are investigated. It is observed in past research that fly ash bricks have sufficient strength for their use in low-cost housing development. I have considered a simple house plan and compare its estimate with Fly ash brick and clay brick. Compressive strength of Fly Ash-Concrete blocks with different mix designs also tested in our project. In some past research tests were also conducted to study the influence of type of curing on the increase in strength and hardening of the bricks and blocks with time, and it was observed that the hot water curing leads to a greater degree of hardening and higher strength, earlier compared to ordinary water curing. However, The Main aim of low-cost housing construction techniques is to reduce the construction cost by following effective processes, methods, and by utilizing good alternative materials and this paper presents the same.

 Abstract

ABSTRACT: INTRODUCTION: Upper GI disorders are one of the most commonly encountered problems in clinical practice with high degree of morbidity and mortality. Various pathologies involving the upper Gastro intestinal tract manifest with a similar group of symptoms which are difficult to assess clinically. There are several diagnostic investigations available in the evaluation of these symptoms where endoscopy is performed as the initial diagnostic test.1 METHOD: The present study was done at dhiraj hospital on 70 patients to assess the histopathological spectrum of various upper GIT lesions with respect to clinical and endoscopic findings and to find out their frequency of occurrence in relation to age and sex. RESULT: In the present study the most common non neoplastic esophageal lesion was esophagitis (12.40%) followed by neoplastic lesion was squamous cell carcinoma (10.0%). Barrett's esophagus was seen in 5.20% cases. In the present study most common site for esophageal malignancy was middle one third (32.0%) of esophagus in the present study. It was observed that majority of cases show squamous cell carcinoma (10%)as predominant lesion while adenocarcinoma seen in 5.20% cases. CONCLUSION: To conclude the fibreoptic diagnostic upper GI endoscopy is relatively less invasive, simple, safe and well tolerated procedure, cost effective and provides good diagnostic yield in confirming various upper GI lesions. In routine clinical practice, histopathology is the "gold standard" for definitive diagnosis of various lesions.

 Abstract

This paper presents a design for a compact, Arduino-controlled biogas plant with a 20-liter capacity. The system has a main chamber along with 4 liters of buffer storage. The system is employed with three manual valves and a solenoid valve along with a pressure and a methane sensor. A 3D printed user interface is also provided with a screen and two buttons. The system prioritizes safety through integration of a pressure sensor and a methane sensor. If either sensor surpasses a designated threshold (4 bar for pressure), a solenoid valve automatically opens, releasing excess gas. A 16x2 LCD display provides real-time pressure and methane concentration readings. User interaction is facilitated via a two-button remote control. One button enables automatic control, while the other allows for manual operation. A 3D-printed tangible user interface enhances the user experience. This design offers a user-friendly, safe, and efficient solution for small-scale biogas production.

 Abstract

The terms gender and sex tend to be used interchangeably, but there is a notable difference. "Sex" refers to the individual's biological identity, being male or female. "Gender" refers to the overall characteristics that society views as masculine or feminine and what the individual identifies as, regardless of what he/she is labelled as on the birth certificate. No matter what the discrimination is based on sex and gender discrimination is illegal in the workplace, if you want to learn about the general umbrella of employment discrimination. Gender discrimination can take various forms in the workplace and the law applies to both men and women (although women are the predominate victim). Generally, gender discrimination is when a corporation treats an employee differently because the individual is a man or a woman. Workplace gender discrimination comes in many different forms, but generally it means that an employee or a job applicant is treated differently or less favourably because of their sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. Gender discrimination at the workplace limits people's full potential and reduces workplace productivity. Global data shows that gender based discrimination have caused 50% of the population to be unable to realize their true potential. For workplace gender discrimination to be considered illegal, it has to involve treatment that negatively affects the "terms or conditions" of your employment. Terms or conditions of employment are all the responsibilities, rules, and benefits of a job. Most of the time, they are set by an employer or negotiated by a worker and the employer at the time of hire. In unionized workplaces, they are negotiated and agreed on as part of the "collective bargaining" process. "Terms and conditions" include but are not limited to things like your job responsibilities, work hours, dress code, vacation and sick days, starting salary, and performance evaluation standards.

The overall Assessment of the Left Ventricle's structural parameters like wall thickness and wall motion assessment are important steps for early diagnosis and effective treatment of any type of cardiac disorder or anomaly within. This project aims to develop a robust and efficient deep learning system for the automated assessment of the left ventricle (LV) wall thickness and wall motion using the cardiac MRI data. This project leverages the capabilities of deep learning techniques to analyse the cardiac MRI images. The model will be designed to extract important information about the total area of the LV and consequently wall thickness and wall motion using contours to mark the edges of the LV wall, allowing for a effective evaluation of cardiac health. By automating this process, healthcare providers can save time, reduce human error, and improve patient care. By automating this part of diagnosis in the process, this project can completely revolutionize cardiac care, making it more accessible, efficient, and precise. It can significantly impact the early detection and management of cardiovascular diseases, ultimately improving patient diagnosis outcomes.
