Employee compensation and benefits constitute a critical pillar of human resource management. This study investigates employee perception towards compensation and benefits at RK Heavy Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. The primary objective is to examine whether the existing compensation structure aligns with employee expectations and influences their satisfaction, motivation, and retention. Primary data were collected from 114 respondents through a structured questionnaire using convenient sampling. Statistical tools including Percentage Analysis, Chi-Square tests, One-Way ANOVA, and T-Tests were employed for analysis. Key findings reveal that 95.6% of respondents are male, 44.7% are satisfied with their salary and allowances, 54.4% agree that the compensation structure is flexible depending on profitability, and 55.3% confirm that merit-based promotion policy is followed. Chi-Square tests indicate significant associations between demographic variables (age, education, income, marital status, family type, experience) and satisfaction levels. ANOVA results confirm that educational qualification (p=0.006), annual income (p=0.000), and years of experience (p=0.000) significantly influence employee satisfaction. The study concludes that while a substantial portion of employees are satisfied, improvements in overtime benefits, welfare measures, and non-financial recognition are essential for sustaining a motivated workforce.

Ethno-medicinal plants have been studied in view of the demand for safe, eco-friendly alternatives to the use of synthetic antimicrobials in the textile sector. The development of a bioactive finish using the plant Leucas aspera (Thumbai), which is known for its presence of essential secondary metabolites, is the principal focus of the current project. Aqueous solutions were employed for the extraction of Leucas aspera leaves. The components present in these plant extracts were analyzed. In order to allow for ester bond formation between the phenolics in the plant extracts and the cellulose fibers through an environmentally friendly cross-linking reagent like citric acid, the ethanolic extract of the plant was incorporated into the interlock cotton through the use of padding and mangle.

Artificial Intelligence or AI is a technology that leads computers and machines to mimic hu-man intelligence. Thus, the computers and machines can learn from data, solve problems and make decisions. The objectives of the study are to identify the factors that optimise the per-formance of AI and ascertain from the perspective of the respondents if AI has its flip side too. The study is descriptive cum analytical in nature. Data has been collected by using inter-view schedules. The study reckons three categories of respondents namely Organisations (numbering 30), AI Experts (numbering 50) and Employees (numbering 50). The researcher used the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet package for data analysis, reporting and deployment. To collect primary data, she used a 4-point Likert scale to elicit the respondents' replies to the queries raised in the Interview Schedule. Her key findings revealed that AI is not about re-placing employees; it is about raising the productivity of employees. AI-enabled organisations can move from a reactive stance to a proactive stance. AI can take over decision-making tasks; it can affect employees' solution space, in the process, though. Consequently, it can limit the employees' autonomy resulting in their frustration.

This study examines the financial stability and business growth of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) over the five-year period from 2019-20 to 2023-24. Employing the seven-dimension analytical framework of Sarbapriya Ray (2011), the study evaluates financial indicators across profitability, financial structure, operating efficiency, profit appropriation, fixed asset age, current asset efficiency, and liquidity. Data are sourced entirely from TNPL's published audited annual reports. The analysis integrates ratio analysis with Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) computation and three-year moving average trend analysis. The study finds a V-shaped profitability recovery following the 2020-21 pandemic-impacted loss year, with ROE reaching 19.95% and ROCE at 22.28% in 2022-23. The debt-equity ratio declined consistently from 1.43 to 0.86. CAGR analysis confirms positive growth across all five parameters: revenue at 7.83%, net profit at 12.48%, total assets at 2.04%, shareholders' equity at 5.10%, and EBITDA at 6.81%. The primary structural concern is persistently low liquidity, with the current ratio and liquid ratio remaining below standard benchmarks throughout the period. TNPL is concluded to be a financially improving enterprise well-positioned for medium-term growth.

Fuel cells are emerging as a reliable alternative energy source for distributed power generation due to their high efficiency and low environmental impact. However, the low output voltage characteristics of fuel cells require high-gain DC-DC conversion to meet practical load requirements. This paper presents the design and performance evaluation of a fuel cell fed high-gain DC-DC converter intended for local load applications. The proposed topology achieves enhanced voltage gain using a dual-switch configuration and operates under both open-loop and closed-loop conditions. A proportional-integral (PI) controller is implemented to regulate the output voltage against load and input disturbances. Mathematical analysis establishes the voltage gain relationship of the converter. Simulation studies are carried out under varying load resistance and input voltage conditions to evaluate dynamic and steady-state performance. Results demonstrate significant reduction in overshoot from 32.664% in open-loop operation to 0.723% under closed-loop control. Steady-state error is reduced from 7.94 to 0.6, confirming improved regulation capability. The converter achieves a voltage gain of 4 at 60% duty cycle, validating the theoretical analysis. The proposed system demonstrates suitability for fuel cell based distributed power applications requiring stable high-voltage DC output.
