This essay explores how 20th-century literature gradually shifted from romantic imagination and idealized storytelling toward social realism and the exploration of individual human experiences. During this period, writers became more concerned with portraying the realities of everyday life, social inequalities, psychological conflicts, and the struggles of ordinary people. In Odia literature, Upendra Kishore Das made a significant contribution through his classic novel Mala Janha. The novel presents a powerful and realistic picture of rural Odia society and reflects the socio-cultural conditions of the time with remarkable depth and sensitivity. The discussion in this essay focuses on the tragic journey of the female protagonist, Sati, whose life becomes a symbol of suffering, emotional conflict, and social oppression. Through her experiences, the novel vividly portrays rural life, poverty, traditional customs, and deeply rooted superstitions that continue to influence society. At the same time, the narrative explores psychological struggles and inner emotional tensions, giving importance to the human mind and personal identity. The complex relationships among family members and the wider community further reveal the cultural and moral structure of village society. Thus, Mala Janha stands as an important example of social realism in Odia literature and highlights the transformation of literary themes during the 20th century.

Rising rates of lifestyle-related disorders and mental health challenges have highlighted a critical gap in how existing digital health tools approach personal wellness. Most nutrition and fitness applications are limited to calorie tracking or weight management and fail to connect nutritional intake with emotional health. This paper presents NutriMood AI, a fully integrated, AI-powered web application that models the complex relationship between daily nutrition, lifestyle behaviour, and emotional well-being. The system is built on a secure three-tier architecture using Python/Flask for the backend, MySQL with SQLAlchemy ORM for data management, and a Bootstrap 5 frontend with Chart.js for interactive visualisation. During onboarding, the platform computes personalised biological benchmarks including BMI, BMR, TDEE, and hydration targets. Daily food logs are processed via the USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts APIs to monitor more than 30 nutrients, which are then cross-referenced with demographic Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) baselines to generate micronutrient deficiency alerts and a personalised Daily Nutrition Score. The core predictive component employs a supervised machine learning pipeline using a 14-dimensional feature vector encompassing macronutrients, neuro-active micronutrients, and lifestyle indicators. Five classification algorithms were evaluated: Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, XGBoost, and LightGBM. LightGBM demonstrated the best performance with a multi-class mood prediction accuracy of approximately 93%, validating the feasibility of data-driven emotional wellness prediction in a clinical-support context.

Abstract: This detailed study looks into how programs run by the central and state governments have affected the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education across India. It specifically looks at key initiatives like the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) Act. India have many plans and programmes to improve GER in female enrollments. India has approved several United Nations agreements, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Beijing Platform for Action, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). These international agreements show the country's dedication to safeguarding and supporting women and girls. The recently agreed-upon 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are expected to greatly influence development efforts by addressing key challenges like gender inequality, violence against women, and access to good education--issues that are vital for achieving these goals worldwide.

This study critically explores the ecological consciousness embedded within the ritual traditions, oral literature, and cultural practices of the Meetei community of Manipur, with particular focus on Lai Haraoba and its associated folksongs. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of cultural ecology proposed by Julian Steward, the paper explores how indigenous belief systems, ritual performances, and oral narratives reflect a deeply rooted relationship between human society and the natural environment. The study argues that the Meetei worldview does not perceive nature merely as a material resource but as a sacred and living entity intimately connected to social, spiritual, and cultural existence. Through an analysis of ritual songs such as Nonglao Ishei, Louta Ishei, Louyaan Ishei, and Phoukou Ishei, the paper demonstrates how agricultural life, seasonal cycles, rain invocation, fertility rituals, and reverence for forests and water bodies were integrated into the cultural fabric of pre-colonial Manipuri society. The elegiac lament associated with the cutting of a tree in Hijing Hirao further reveals an indigenous environmental ethic rooted in empathy, restraint, and coexistence. The study also highlights traditional ecological practices such as taboos on cutting trees during particular seasons and the indigenous systems of rainwater harvesting, which collectively illustrate a sustainable mode of living. At a time of increasing ecological crisis and environmental degradation, the study emphasizes the contemporary relevance of indigenous knowledge systems. This study also argues that Meetei oral traditions and ritual practices offer alternative ecological philosophies capable of contributing meaningfully to present discussions on sustainability, conservation, and environmental ethics. The study employs a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach through textual analysis, oral narratives, folklore studies, and cultural interpretation, supported by secondary sources on cultural ecology, indigenous traditions, and environmental practices.

This study explores the idea of cultural equality in the performing arts traditions of Manipur through an examination of Lai Haraoba, Raas Leela, Nata Sankirtana, and contemporary Manipuri classical dance. The paper focuses on the collaborative roles of men and women in sustaining, preserving, and developing these artistic traditions across different historical periods. In Manipuri culture, performance is deeply connected with ritual, spirituality, and community life, where artistic practices are shaped not by hierarchy but by shared participation and mutual respect. The study reveals the contributions of Nupa Amaibi and Nupi Amaibi in Lai Haraoba, the roles of Raasdhari and Sutradhari in Raas Leela, and the emergence of women's participation in Nata Sankirtana through institutions such as Raseshwori Pala and Jalakeli Pala. It also examines the evolution of Manipuri classical dance from ritual performance to stage composition and the growing inclusivity of male and female performers in modern productions. The research adopts a qualitative and descriptive methodology based on historical analysis, textual interpretation, and cultural study. Primary attention is given to literary sources, ritual texts, oral traditions, and scholarly works related to Manipuri performing arts and Vaishnavite culture. Through this approach, the study investigates how gender roles within these traditions evolved while continuing to maintain cultural harmony and spiritual significance. The study concludes that Manipuri performing arts present a unique model of cultural inclusivity where men and women contribute equally to artistic and ritual practices. These traditions continue to preserve collective identity, spiritual values, and cultural continuity while also responding to contemporary ideas of equality and shared creative expression.

Mental health among students has emerged as a significant concern in the modern educational environment due to academic stress, competition, anxiety, depression, emotional imbalance, and lifestyle disorders. The Marathwada region of Maharashtra, known for socio-economic and climatic challenges, presents a unique context where students often face psychological stressors. Yoga, an ancient Indian holistic science, has been increasingly recognized as an effective non-pharmacological intervention for promoting mental health. This analytical study examines yoga as a tool for enhancing mental health among students in the Marathwada region. The study reviews existing literature, theoretical perspectives, and empirical findings to understand how yogic practices such as Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation, and Relaxation techniques improve concentration, emotional stability, stress management, and overall well-being. The findings indicate that regular yoga practice significantly reduces anxiety, depression, and stress while improving self-esteem, memory, and academic performance. The paper recommends institutionalizing yoga programs in schools, colleges, and universities across Marathwada.
