Narrative communication is the process of conveying information through storytelling, aiming to engage audience emotionally and rationally. It involves structuring information into a coherent narrative with a proper beginning, middle and end, including characters, setting, and conflict, to create a relatable memorable experience. With the help of suitable narrative strategies, the speaker can easily get connected with the audience. The present research paper makes a critical survey of Indian English Novel before 1980 from the point of form, communicative and narrative techniques. Such a brief survey will help to study how the Indian writers in English have employed the art of narration to communicate their thoughts and stories in the novel form, which is a borrowed form of literature from the West. A brief survey of Indian English novel before 1980 from the point of view of narrative and communicative techniques is also helpful to provide the knowledge of the narrative techniques employed by the novelists to express their views, their contribution to the Indian English novel and to find out the main trends in the novelistic techniques employed by the novelists before 1980.

Women empowerment has become a key indicator of social progress and inclusive development in modern society. In Assam, especially in Kamrup district, the status of women reflects a complex blend of progress and persistent challenges. This study aims to explore the current issues and obstacles hindering women's empowerment in the district. Relying on secondary data from government reports, academic publications, and institutional sources, the research adopts a descriptive and analytical approach. The findings reveal that women in Kamrup continue to face barriers such as low literacy rates, economic dependence, underrepresentation in leadership, health disparities, and social constraints rooted in patriarchy. Despite the presence of welfare schemes and the positive role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), implementation gaps and cultural resistance limit their effectiveness. The study concludes with recommendations for region-specific policy interventions, improved awareness, better implementation of existing schemes, and greater societal participation in advancing women's rights and empowerment. Empowering women in Kamrup is not just essential for gender justice but also vital for the holistic development of the region.

This research focuses on the development of choreography in the context of Manipuri dance's evolution through the modern theatrical works of Poushali Chatterjee and Dr. Bimbavati Devi. Manipuri dance, a classical form from the northeastern state of India, is traditionally devotional and ritualistic. It has, however, undergone transformative change, through innovative choreography, in its socio-cultural, and political expressions. The research studies how both choreographers integrate classical forms of Laiharaoba, Lasya, Tandav, Thang-ta, and Cholom with thematic variations to convey strong statements in imaginative ways. Chatterjee's works, such as Sama, Pata-Katha, Parichay, and Malemgi Wari have a focus on harmonious existence, environmental degradation, and reinterpretation of mythology. She commonly utilizes Thang-ta to express imbalance and destruction, whereas movements from Laiharaoba and Cholom symbolize hope. Footprints in Blood captures the essence of Manipuri dance as a mode of women's resistance, reclaiming the art from contemporary turmoil and historical violence. Thang-ta is employed for empowerment and justice, particularly when depicting female warriors and goddesses. The paper closes by noting that both of the choreographers, in their individual viewpoints, have Manipuri dance expanded within its scope of expression, reaffirming its importance in contemporary societies and considering it a notable instrument for cultural critique and change.

This study explores the origins and evolution of Human Resource Development (HRD) and its role in economic progress, providing a comprehensive definition of this multidisciplinary concept at both micro and macro levels. HRD is fundamentally an economic concept but extends traditional economic paradigms by allocating investment resources to enhance human inputs, which are predominantly social in nature. While this marks progress towards a more holistic development model, it falls short of achieving true human development. This limitation arises from resource allocation being solely based on economic criteria, often marginalizing society's most vulnerable groups. The paper examines the macro-level HRD scenario in India, emphasizing that rigid economic criteria should not govern HRD strategies in contexts of underdevelopment. Finally, it identifies several urgent measures required to strengthen HRD in India to address these challenges effectively.

In literary criticism the last decades of the twentieth century have been particularly fruitful, since the rise of the New Criticism in the 1950s, which focused the attention of critics and readers upon the text itself. There has emerged a whole variety of critical methods which have brought a rich diversity of perspectives, social, historical, political, psychological, economic, ideological and philosophical, while attention to the text itself as thought by the new critics remains at the core of contemporary interpretation, the widely shared assumption that works of art generate many different kinds of interpretations has opened up possibilities for new readings and new meanings.

The entertainment industry has traditionally used women's bodies and sexuality as a means of increasing revenue and sales. Nonetheless, the perspective used to portray women's bodies and sexuality has evolved over time. In the past, women's bodies were commercialized and utilized as an instrument of drawing attention and boosting sales for movies and products. However, the idea of the abusive exploitation and sexual objectification of the female body in films and advertisements has been criticized as a result of the recent emphasis on women's equality and emancipation. As a result, a new era of commodity feminism, or femvertising, has begun. The objective of this research paper is to study a few Indian films from the beginning of this century made with feminist characters and agendas at its core, in order to investigate the efficacy and motivations behind the use of feminism as a marketing technique.
