 Abstract

Background: In Ayurveda, Manas Roga refers to psychiatric, psychological, or mental disorders stemming from an imbalance in the mind's attributes and its connection with the physical body. Clinical anxiety disorders represent a global health crisis, characterized by persistent psychological distress and autonomic dys-regulation and they are the most common mental health conditions in general population. Estimates suggest around 1 in 3 people experience an anxiety disorder at some point in their lives. Modern psychiatry relies heavily on the cross-sectional Mental Status Examination (MSE), an empirical tool focused on observable behaviors and objective cognitive functions. Objective: This study presents a comparative evaluation of Manasabhava Pariksha and the modern MSE within clinical anxiety phenotypes, specifically exploring how ancient subjective metrics align with or expand upon contemporary neurobiological and behavioral criteria. Methodology: A cross-sectional comparative mapping analysis was executed. Diagnostic domains from classical Ayurvedic texts (Charaka samhita, Sushruta samhita) were mapped against standardized psychiatric criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR) and standard MSE protocols. Quantitative and qualitative alignment matrices were constructed to analyze areas of convergence, divergence, and complementary utility. Results: High structural convergence (78%) was observed between cognitive, perceptual, and motor domains. Modern parameters of "Appearance and Behavior" and "Speech" map directly onto Ayurvedic chesta (psychomotor activity) and Vak (verbal output). However, Manasabhava pariksha demonstrated a uniquely granular sub-classification of internal emotional and volitional states, tracking dimensions like Dhriti (will power/restraint), Smriti (contextual memory), and Bhakti (desires/conduct). While MSE excels at establishing immediate objective risk profiles, Manasabhava pariksha offers deeper insight into longitudinal psychosomatic vulnerabilities (prakriti-vikriti matrix) and the gut-brain axis (agni-srotas dynamic). Conclusion: Integrating Manasabhava pariksha with the modern MSE provides a multi-dimensional diagnostic matrix. This hybrid framework maintains empirical scientific rigor while capturing long-term behavioral trends and patient resilience, clearing a path for comprehensive, personalized clinical interventions.

 Abstract

In the prevalent discourses of vulnerability studies, childhood vulnerability forms a unique and engaging field of study. Khaled Hosseini's And The Mountains Echoed (2013) poignantly portrays the entanglements created by cruel experiences during childhood and posits the stage of childhood as highly susceptible to vulnerability. Childhood vulnerability is an intricate idea that ranges from individual circumstances of children to systemic exploitation in society. It also creates a site of shared precarity. Vulnerability in childhood takes its tangible forms in economic hardships, familial dislocation, gender stereotypes, trauma, etcetera. It leads to unequal distribution of opportunity among children and renders a child's life as a mere superfluous body causing mental and physical deformities to the child. Furthermore, this paper, through various episodes of the novel, will embark on a journey to express the idea of false resilience and its implications on children's psyche. To inculcate a culture of empathy and peace in our conflict-ridden world, a holistic analysis of vulnerability as a shared human condition is crucial.

 Abstract

Abstract Breastfeeding is the best and most natural way to feed infants because it provides complete nutrition and protection against infections. However, many primigravida mothers (first-time pregnant mothers) do not have enough knowledge about proper breastfeeding practices. The present study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) package on knowledge regarding breastfeeding among primigravida mothers. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was used for the study. The study was conducted among 30 primigravida mothers attending antenatal clinics at Muzaffarnagar Medical College and Hospital. A structured questionnaire was used to assess their knowledge regarding breast milk, breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques, and diet during breastfeeding. After the pre-test, an IEC package was given through lecture and discussion using posters, charts, handouts, and videos. The post-test was conducted after 15 days. The study findings showed that before the IEC package, most mothers had inadequate or moderately adequate knowledge regarding breastfeeding. After the IEC package, the knowledge level improved significantly, and most mothers had adequate knowledge. The mean knowledge score increased from 54.11 in the pre-test to 88.89 in the post-test. No significant association was found between knowledge and demographic variables. The study concluded that the IEC package was effective in improving knowledge regarding breastfeeding among primigravida mothers. Health education programs during pregnancy can help mothers practice proper breastfeeding and improve infant health outcomes.

 Abstract

Abstract Background: Recovery of independent walking is a top rehabilitation priority for stroke survivors with hemiparesis. Virtual reality (VR)-based gait training combines task-specific locomotor practice with high-intensity, motivating, multisensory environments and has been proposed to enhance neuroplastic recovery beyond conventional approaches. However, evidence regarding its superiority over conventional gait training remains heterogeneous, particularly in subacute stroke. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of treadmill-based immersive VR gait training (VRGT) compared with conventional gait training (CGT) on walking speed, endurance, balance, motor recovery, and quality of life in adults with subacute post-stroke hemiparesis. Methods: In this assessor-blinded, single-center, parallel-group randomized controlled trial, 72 adults (aged 30-70 years) with first-ever ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke (1-6 months post-onset, Functional Ambulation Category [FAC] 2-4) were randomized 1:1 to VRGT (n = 36) or CGT (n = 36). Both groups received 45 minutes of gait-focused training, 5 days/week, for 6 weeks (30 sessions). The primary outcome was the 10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT) at 6 weeks. Secondary outcomes included the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Timed Up and Go (TUG), Fugl-Meyer Assessment Lower Extremity (FMA-LE), FAC, Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), Activities-specific Balance Confidence (ABC) Scale, and Stroke Impact Scale (SIS-16). Assessments occurred at baseline, 6 weeks, and 3-month follow-up. Results: Sixty-eight participants completed the intervention (VRGT = 34, CGT = 34). At 6 weeks, the VRGT group demonstrated significantly greater improvement in 10MWT gait speed (adjusted mean difference [MD] = 0.16 m/s; 95% CI 0.08-0.24; p < 0.001; Cohen's d = 0.94), 6MWT distance (MD = 48.3 m; 95% CI 27.6-69.0; p < 0.001), BBS (MD = 4.1; 95% CI 2.3-5.9; p < 0.001), TUG (MD = -2.4 s; 95% CI -3.6 to -1.2; p < 0.001), FMA-LE (MD = 3.2; 95% CI 1.6-4.8; p < 0.001), DGI (MD = 2.8; 95% CI 1.5-4.1; p < 0.001), ABC Scale (MD = 9.7%; 95% CI 5.2-14.2; p < 0.001), and SIS-16 (MD = 7.2; 95% CI 3.8-10.6; p < 0.001) compared with CGT. Between-group differences remained significant at 3-month follow-up. No serious adverse events occurred; cybersickness symptoms (mild dizziness, eye strain) were transient and infrequent. Conclusions: A 6-week treadmill-based VR gait training program produced clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvements over conventional gait training across walking, balance, motor, and quality-of-life outcomes in adults with subacute post-stroke hemiparesis. Effects were durable at 3-month follow-up. VR-based gait training should be considered an effective adjunct to contemporary stroke rehabilitation.

 Abstract

Let's face it--hiring is tricky. The use of classic interviews leads to a range of shortcomings, including bias, uneven judgment, and delayed decisions. This is where this AI-Based Interview Evaluation System, based on NLP and machine learning, comes into play. The aim? Technology should be the primary driver and provide accurate scores for job seekers.' The process is pretty straightforward. The AI begins by sorting through responses and then segregates them into smaller, more manageable groups. It not only counts words, but also scrutinizes the most significant aspects of people's responses

 Abstract

Impulse buying behaviour has become a prominent aspect of consumer decision-making, particularly in the apparel sector, where purchases are often influenced by emotions and situational factors. While such purchases may provide immediate satisfaction, they may also lead to post-purchase dissonance, reflecting consumers' feelings of doubt, regret, or discomfort after the purchase. The present study examines the influence of impulse buying behaviour on post-purchase dissonance among apparel consumers. The study is based on primary data collected from 400 respondents across selected districts of Telangana using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis were employed to analyse the data. The findings indicate that impulse buying behaviour is moderately prevalent among consumers and has a positive and statistically significant influence on post-purchase dissonance, although the strength of the relationship is relatively low. Further analysis of post-purchase dissonance dimensions reveals that the perception of better alternatives is the most prominent factor influencing consumers' post-purchase feelings. The study highlights the need for retailers to manage impulse buying triggers responsibly and to reduce post-purchase dissonance through improved product information, ethical selling practices, and customer support. The findings contribute to a better understanding of consumer behaviour in the apparel sector and provide useful insights for both researchers and practitioners.
