The traditional reliance on academic degrees as a primary hiring criterion is undergoing a significant transformation in India. This research investigates the growing preference for skill-based hiring over degree-based recruitment, particularly in dynamic sectors like technology, digital marketing, and startups. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes survey data from 75 HR professionals and recruitment decision-makers, the study highlights key differences in outcomes between the two hiring models. The findings show that skill-based hiring improves job readiness, enhances cultural fit, and increases employee retention. Despite its advantages, the model faces challenges such as lack of standardized assessment tools and management resistance. The study recommends a hybrid hiring framework supported by validated skill assessments and improved recruiter training. It concludes by calling for closer collaboration between academia and industry to develop a future-ready workforce.

This study investigates consumer awareness and willingness to use solar energy with a particular focus on Coimbatore City. The transition to renewable energy sources is essential to address global energy concerns, environmental degradation, and the depletion of non-renewable resources. Among the alternatives, solar energy stands out due to its sustainability, eco-friendliness, and abundant availability, particularly in sun-rich regions like Coimbatore. This study explores the level of consumer awareness and willingness to adopt solar energy solutions in Coimbatore City, aiming to identify key drivers and barriers influencing adoption. Using both primary and secondary data, the research surveyed 110 respondents across various demographics through structured questionnaires. The study employs percentage analysis and Likert scale methods to evaluate consumer familiarity, perceptions, and motivations regarding solar energy systems. Findings reveal that while awareness of solar energy is moderate, misconceptions, high installation costs, and limited understanding of government incentives significantly deter adoption. Conversely, benefits such as cost savings, environmental impact, and positive social influence were major motivators. Most respondents showed openness to switching to solar energy, especially if the benefits were substantial or supported by financial incentives. Social media, educational institutions, and peer networks emerged as vital sources of information. Government initiatives, though in place, were not sufficiently understood or accessible to many consumers. A majority expressed that infrastructure in Coimbatore is promising but requires further development. The study concludes that enhancing public knowledge through targeted awareness programs, improving financing options, and simplifying policy access can substantially boost solar energy adoption. The insights gained are valuable for policymakers, businesses, and environmental advocates to design effective strategies that support sustainable energy transitions in urban Indian settings like Coimbatore.

Sanitary workers are essential to maintaining public health and hygiene but are frequently exposed to hazardous environments that pose serious health risks. To ensure their safety and well-being, this project proposes an IoT-based Health Monitoring Jacket specifically designed for sanitary workers. The wearable device incorporates a range of sensors including a pulse sensor to continuously monitor heart rate and a temperature sensor to track body temperature. These vital parameters help detect signs of fatigue, illness, or abnormal health conditions at an early stage. An emergency switch is embedded in the jacket, enabling workers to call for help instantly when facing dangerous situations. The ESP32 microcontroller serves as the system's core, integrating all sensors and managing data transmission. A GPS module is also included to track the real-time location of the workers, allowing authorities to reach them quickly during emergencies. All sensor data is transmitted to a cloud platform using IoT technology. In case of any irregular health readings or emergency switch activation, the system triggers immediate alerts to designated authorities. This real-time monitoring system ensures swift medical or safety interventions, significantly improving the safety standards for sanitary workers. The project thus contributes to occupational health and safety by using modern IoT advancements for proactive care.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Egg freezing, also known as Oocyte cryopreservation, it is a procedure to preserve a Woman's eggs (Oocyte). This technique has been used to postpone pregnancy. When pregnancy is desired, the eggs can be thawed, fertilized, and transferred to the uterus as embryos. Several studies have shown that most infertility problems are due to germ cell deterioration related to aging. The procedure's success rate varies depending on the age of the woman, with the odds being higher in younger women. Initially, Egg Freezing was only used for Women undergoing treatments that negatively affected their ability to conceive, such as gonadal-toxic chemotherapy, radiation, or ovarian surgery. However, the increasing trend of delaying childbearing for financial, personal or career-related has also become an indication for social Egg Freezing. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY 1. To assess the Knowledge regarding Egg Freezing among Working Women at selected Offices of Kamrup (M), Assam. 2. To assess the Attitude regarding Egg Freezing among Working Women at selected Offices of Kamrup (M), Assam. 3. To find out the correlation between the Knowledge and Attitude regarding Egg Freezing among Working Women at selected Offices of Kamrup (M), Assam. 4. To find out the association between Knowledge regarding Egg Freezing among Working Women at selected Offices of Kamrup (M), Assam with the selected demographic variables. 5. To find out the association between Attitude regarding Egg Freezing among Working Women at selected Offices of Kamrup (M), Assam with the selected demographic variables. 6. This study investigates the socioeconomic determinants influencing e-banking adoption among rural populations in Wayanad, India, with a focus on income disparities, occupational barriers, and infrastructural challenges. Using survey data from 109 respondents, the research employs statistical analysis to compare e-banking usage patterns across demographic segments. The findings reveal pronounced disparities in digital banking accessibility, with higher-income groups (monthly earnings > INR20,000) exhibiting significantly greater adoption rates compared to low-income populations (< INR10,000), underscoring the critical role of financial capacity in technology uptake. Occupational divides further compound this gap, as agricultural workers--despite constituting a majority in Wayanad--lag behind small business owners and salaried individuals due to irregular income flows and lack of tailored banking solutions. The study also highlights infrastructural hurdles, such as unreliable internet connectivity in tribal hamlets, which suppress usage even among willing adopters. Importantly, the analysis identifies an intersectional effect between income and digital literacy, where education mitigates financial barriers to some extent. These insights challenge conventional one-size-fits-all approaches to financial inclusion. The paper concludes by advocating for stratified policy interventions, including occupation-specific digital literacy programs, subsidized connectivity for farmers, and infrastructure upgrades aligned with the BharatNet initiative. By bridging these gaps, policymakers and financial institutions can accelerate equitable e-banking penetration in rural economies.

This study explores the ecological concerns advocated by Canadian Author Margaret Atwood in one of her compelling dystopian novels Oryx and Crake. Instead of improving the existing conditions of human beings and nature, Genetic Engineering, corporate greed, social inequality, oppression of women and genetic splicing bring catastrophe to the ecosystem and they lead the human beings to extinction. On glancing through the ecocritical lens, the themes such as anthropocentrism, environmental apocalypse, genetic engineering, capitalist exploitation of nature, ecofeminism are brilliantly incorporated in this dystopian narrative. The anthropocentric world envisioned by science and technology has created a great rift between the bond of human beings and environment. Human avarice is the root cause for the great damage we encounter in the present world that may suffer endlessly in the dystopian world. This paper evaluates how Atwood's futuristic novel voices for the environmental protection and planet's safety through her speculative writing.
