 Abstract

Since the beginning, humans have sought a better life; from the Stone Age to the modern technological era, this pursuit has driven people to move, often abandoning their homelands. Such migrations frequently produced a painful sense of exile. Language, identity, place, and home are interconnected aspects of belonging and alienation, as Jhumpa Lahiri observes. Fueled by widespread migration, diasporic literature emerged alongside postcolonial writing, developing within the same historical framework. Transplantation often renders immigrants rootless. Today much of the most significant Indian writing comes from the diaspora--authors such as Kamala Markandaya, Anita Desai, Bharati Mukherjee, Salman Rushdie, V.S. Naipaul, Vikram Seth, Amitav Ghosh, Rohinton Mistry, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, and Jhumpa Lahiri. In particular, Indian women writers in the diaspora have made powerful contributions, gaining international recognition and achieving excellence across literary forms. Their works frequently portray physical and emotional struggles, focusing on themes like discrimination, culture shock, identity crises, alienation, displacement, dilemma, depression, hybridity, and nostalgia. This study examines the tensions of cross-cultural identity and cultural transplantation in Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's The Mistress of Spices. It offers a comparative analysis that foregrounds cultural and feminist perspectives to investigate the challenges faced by female protagonists navigating immigration in the selected novels.

 Abstract

The trustworthiness of visual information in applications like surveillance, digital forensics, medical diagnostics, and security monitoring is seriously threatened by the substantial increase in digital picture modification brought about by the growing accessibility of sophisticated image editing software. As a result, preserving the integrity and validity of images now depends on the creation of effective and precise image forgery detection methods. In this paper, a Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL)-based FPGA-based Image Forgery Detection System is proposed. By analysing image attributes and identifying anomalies brought about by forging operations, such as copy-move assaults and unauthorized modifications, the suggested architecture is intended to identify tampered regions in digital images. High-speed processing and real-time operation are made possible by the system's implementation on an FPGA platform, which takes use of hardware-level parallelism. The suggested hardware solution delivers better computational efficiency, lower processing delay, and lower power consumption while retaining efficient resource utilization when compared to traditional software-based approaches. Simulation and synthesis assessments validate the functionality and performance of the proposed architecture, demonstrating that it can detect updated image regions with appropriate accuracy and execution speed. The created system is well-suited for implementation in digital forensic investigations, picture authentication frameworks, surveillance infrastructures, and other security-sensitive contexts demanding quick and reliable image verification because of its scalability and dependability.

 Abstract

The research is about how William Shakespeare and Fyodor Dostoevsky depicted mental illnesses in their writing even before the psychology field had come up with formal ways to define and diagnose the different types of disorders. The paper investigates the way both authors managed to give an idea of complicated mental conditions and psychological pain without the help of clinical nomenclature. The paper uses textual analysis of specific literary pieces of Shakespeare and Dostoevsky to compare them. It bases the work on early psychiatric notions and psychoanalytic ideas, such as those of repressed conflict, guilt, splitting, and mood swings. The results show that Shakespeare tends to depict mental illness through the course of the play, through images that are rather symbols, and through the characters' moral struggles, on the other hand, Dostoevsky focuses more on the character's self-examination, sense of self, and the conflict with life in general. Even though they differ a lot in their style of writing and are separated by a big-time gap, they still both manage to give the reader a very clear and deep insight into the feelings of a person with mental disorder, which happens to correspond to our present-day concept of melancholia, paranoid specter, neurosis, and the phenomenon of dissociative states. Literature, as an extension of intellectual processes, seems to still have been a very prominent place for the study of the human psyche before psychiatry was officially recognized as a medical specialty. This paper ends with a recognition of Shakespeare and Dostoevsky as the two writers who, without being formally aware of it, were already engaging with psychological concepts ahead of their time. Their works are a testament to the fact that literature has been of great help in charting the history of our understanding of mental disorders and human consciousness.

 Abstract

Cloud computing has become an essential part of modern education, providing students with easy access to storage, applications, and collaborative tools. This study aims to examine the level of awareness and usage of cloud services among college students in Mangalore and Udupi districts of Karnataka. The research is based on primary data collected through a structured questionnaire from a sample of undergraduate students. The study adopts a descriptive research design and uses simple percentage analysis for interpretation. The findings reveal that a majority of students are aware of cloud computing and actively use cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. However, the study also identifies a significant gap in awareness regarding cloud security issues, including data privacy and cyber threats. The study concludes that while the usage of cloud services is high, there is a need to improve students' knowledge of cloud security and safe practices. The paper suggests that educational institutions should take initiatives to enhance awareness through training programs and curriculum integration.

 Abstract

Maternal and fetal health monitoring is essential for reducing pregnancy-related complications and improving neonatal outcomes. This paper presents Pregnancy AI, an intelligent healthcare prediction system designed to analyze maternal pregnancy risk and fetal health conditions using machine learning techniques. The proposed system employs a Random Forest classifier to predict pregnancy risk levels based on clinical parameters such as age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose level, body temperature, and heart rate. Additionally, a fetal health prediction model is developed using cardiotocography (CTG)-based features to classify fetal conditions into normal, suspect, and pathological categories. The application provides real-time prediction results along with probability-based outputs through an interactive interface developed using Streamlit. To enhance user interaction and healthcare accessibility, the system integrates an AI-powered chatbot supported by a Large Language Model (LLM). The chatbot assists users by answering healthcare-related queries, providing basic pregnancy guidance, and improving awareness regarding maternal and fetal health monitoring. The complete system is implemented using Python, Scikit-learn, Streamlit, and LLM-based conversational support. Experimental evaluation demonstrates reliable predictive performance and practical usability for real-time maternal healthcare assistance and monitoring.

 Abstract

ABSTRACT: Customer satisfaction is a key performance indicator in the banking sector. With rising competition and increasing customer expectations, especially in India's evolving financial landscape, banks are emphasizing customer support services to enhance satisfaction. This study investigates the impact of customer support services on customer satisfaction in both public and private sector banks. The study also compares the effectiveness of these services in both sectors. The modern banking industry has undergone a paradigm shift from product-oriented operations to customer-centric service delivery. In this context, customer support services have emerged as a critical determinant of customer satisfaction. This research paper explores the impact of customer support services--particularly responsiveness, complaint handling, and service accessibility--on customer satisfaction levels in public and private sector banks. Findings indicate that private banks outperform public banks in terms of promptness, digital support, and personalized service, leading to higher overall customer satisfaction. However, public sector banks maintain a strong presence due to perceived trust, wider rural reach, and long-standing customer relationships. The paper highlights key challenges faced by both sectors, such as technological gaps in public banks and service over-automation in private banks. The study concludes that enhancing customer support quality, especially through responsive communication and digital innovation, is essential for building long-term customer loyalty in both banking segments.
