The growing demand for high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) has intensified research into lightweight and structurally efficient battery enclosures. This paper presents the design and structural analysis of a honeycomb-based battery pack housing for tactical placement within the EV underbody chassis. The hexagonal honeycomb core configuration is selected owing to its superior specific strength, energy absorption capability, and thermal management properties. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is carried out using ANSYS Workbench to evaluate the structural response of the battery enclosure under static and dynamic load cases, including frontal impact, side impact, vertical loading, and torsional loading. Three candidate materials, namely Aluminium 5052-H32, Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP), and Nomex Aramid honeycomb, are assessed and compared on the basis of stress distribution, deformation, and mass reduction. The honeycomb geometry is parametrically optimized by varying cell size, wall thickness, and cell angle to achieve the best combination of stiffness and weight. Results indicate that the proposed honeycomb battery pack enclosure achieves a mass reduction of up to 38% over conventional steel enclosures while maintaining structural integrity within permissible safety limits. The study also demonstrates improved thermal dissipation pathways facilitated by the open-cell geometry, which contributes to enhanced battery performance and longevity. The findings validate the suitability of honeycomb structures for the tactical and space-efficient placement of battery packs in EV platforms.

Tourism has become a powerful force of socio-economic and cultural change in Bir-Billing, Himachal Pradesh, particularly impacting local youth. This study investigates the effects of tourism on youth's socio-cultural values, economic conditions, lifestyles and behaviours in the region. The findings show tourism has created jobs in adventure tourism, hospitality and small businesses, boosting economic participation and reducing youth unemployment. However, it has also influenced local traditions, language, dress patterns, consumption and aspirations through cultural exchange and diffusion. This study also noticed only minor changes in traditional practices and continued cultural and community involvement, a growing generational gap and the adoption of tourist lifestyles were widely reported. The study also highlights economic challenges like seasonal work income instability, lower wages, competition from outsiders, rising living costs, gender disparities and concerns about youth labour exploitation at work. Furthermore, tourism has changed lifestyles, increased materialistic aspirations, altered spending habits and raised substance abuse concerns among youth. Despite these shifts, traditional social institutions like family, education and community remain crucial for social cohesion and moral guidance. The study concludes tourism has a dual nature, driving development while also posing socio-economic and socio-cultural risks. It recommends promoting sustainable inclusive tourism, strengthening labour protections, enhancing local involvement, ensuring gender equity, preserving cultural heritage and addressing emerging social challenges to maximise tourism's benefits for youth and the host community.

Low-light image enhancement is a fundamental challenge in computer vision with critical applications spanning surveillance, autonomous navigation, medical imaging, and consumer photography. This paper presents Zero-DCE+, a comprehensive deep learning framework integrating Zero-Reference Deep Curve Estimation (Zero-DCE) for unsupervised low-light enhancement with an automated three-class visibility classification system. The proposed enhancement network comprises a lightweight convolutional architecture (~79,416 parameters) that estimates pixel-wise higher-order curve parameters across eight iterative refinement steps, guided by four complementary unsupervised loss functions (spatial consistency, exposure control, color constancy, and illumination smoothness). A separate visibility classifier employing CNN with batch normalization categorizes enhanced images as Low, Medium, or High visibility. Evaluated on the LOL benchmark dataset (485 training / 15 test pairs), the proposed framework achieves a competitive average PSNR of 14.5 dB and SSIM of 0.61, outperforming the original Zero-DCE baseline on SSIM while maintaining comparable PSNR. The visibility classifier attains 91.8% accuracy with ROC-AUC of 0.97. The complete pipeline operates at sub-200ms inference time on standard CPU hardware and is deployed as an interactive Streamlit web application. This work demonstrates that zero-reference learning can achieve competitive enhancement quality while remaining practical for resource-constrained deployment without GPU infrastructure.

Domestic violence survivors frequently face social stigma, including victim-blaming, discrimination, and social exclusion, which can negatively affect mental health, self-esteem, help-seeking behaviour, and recovery. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of domestic violence survivors receiving counselling at Parihar, Bengaluru. Using purposive sampling, survivors attending counselling services participated in in-depth semi-structured interviews. Data were analysed through thematic analysis. Eight themes emerged: victim-blaming; family and community reactions; shame, guilt, and self-stigma; impact on mental health; barriers to seeking support; role of counselling in recovery; social support and resilience; and recommendations for social change. Participants reported being blamed for the abuse, pressured to preserve family reputation, and discouraged from disclosing violence. Stigma contributed to anxiety, depression, fear, isolation, and delayed help-seeking. Counselling was described as a safe and non-judgmental space that reduced self-blame, improved emotional well-being, and strengthened coping abilities. Supportive relationships and peer networks enhanced resilience. The study concludes that social stigma is a major barrier to recovery and social reintegration, highlighting the need for stigma-reduction initiatives, survivor-centred counselling, mental health support, and stronger community-based interventions in Bengaluru.
